How to Mount Car Tires

It is the age of Do It Yourself or DIY. People want to save their hard earn dollars and are learning to do anything and everything themselves in order to keep from having to pay a professional to install, repair, maintain, replace or build things. This means you and your neighbors may be learning how to build furniture, install flooring, or do your own car repairs. If you’re really ambitious you may even consider mounting those new firestone tires all on your own.

Saving money has led many people to shop online to get better prices for things. You can save a considerable amount of money by buying tires online, but you must then find a way to get those tires on your car. If you want to maximize your savings, you will do the work yourself, though you will need access to a tire machine to do so.

The first step is to deflate both the old tires and the new ones. This is necessary to get them off of and onto the rims . Place the old tire on the machine and it will push the tire off the rim. You may need to use a tire iron to completely remove the old tire. Next, make sure that the rim is locked on the machine and then, using the tire iron, force the new tire onto the rim. When you’re confident it is secure, you can inflate the tire to the recommended pressure. Then just repeat as necessary until all the tires you purchased are mounted. You’ll also want to make sure that you dispose of the old tires properly, taking them to the appropriate dump site or recycling center.
